Sporting Lisbon hitman Viktor Gyökeres has refused to deny joining Manchester United in the future.

The Swedish striker who took his goal tally to 54 goals in 2024 after scoring for his nation against.. on Sunday night was skeptical when he was questioned of the possibility of him joining his former boss at Old Trafford.

“Join Man United with Rúben Amorim? Probably he already has strikers there…”, says Viktor Gyökeres.

“My future club? I plan to 𝐟𝐢𝐧𝐢𝐬𝐡 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐬𝐞𝐚𝐬𝐨𝐧 𝐚𝐭 𝐒𝐩𝐨𝐫𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠, then we will see. Of course I want to play, that’s always crucial point, then there are more factors… we’ll see”. He added.

“It’s sad to see Amorim leaving Sporting now, but we understand his decision, of course… he’s been key for me, Amorim gave me a chance helping me to develop”. Gyökeres concluded.

The 26-year old was signed by Amorim from English Championship side Coventry and has since transformed the forward into a goal machine, fueling speculations he would love to continue his football journey with Amorim.

Amorim joined United to replace Erik Ten Hag who was sacked due to poor performances and lack of good results.

Despite the media linking Viktor Gyökeres to Manchester United, Amorim continues to insist on working with the available squad at Manchester United until the summer.
