The Beatz Awards 2024 celebrated excellence in the Nigerian music industry, giving special recognition to renowned music producer ID Cabasa and Afro hip-hop icon D’Banj for their significant contributions to the industry.

The event, themed “Empowering the Next Generation,” took place on Saturday night at the Muson Centre, Lagos. The awards celebrated not only veterans but also emerging talents and innovators.

Speaking at the event, the CEO of the Beatz Awards, Elijah John, praised ID Cabasa and D’Banj for their dedication and lasting impact.

“We are proud to honor ID Cabasa and D’Banj for their remarkable contributions to the music industry. ID Cabasa is a legend, responsible for nurturing talents like Olamide, Lord of Ajasa, and 9ice, while D’Banj pioneered the global recognition of Afrobeats. Celebrating them is long overdue,” John remarked.

He emphasized the awards’ role in encouraging diversity within the music industry, highlighting the importance of producers, journalists, and other behind-the-scenes contributors.

“We need to shift the narrative that success in music only comes as an artist. Nigeria should become the center of attraction for music awards globally, and the Beatz Awards will continue to evolve to achieve that,” John added.
