The Speaker of the Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Udeme Otong, has assured the State Governor, Pastor Umo Eno, that the legislature will continue to provide the necessary support throughout the home-going ceremonies of the late First Lady and beyond.
Elder Otong gave this assurance when he led members of the 8th Assembly on a condolence visit to the Governor at his country home in Ikot Ekpene Udo, Nsit Ubium Local Government Area.
The legislators, accompanied by their wives under the umbrella of the Legislators’ Wives Association, eulogized the late First Lady and pledged their support to the First Lady-designate, Mrs. Helen Eno Obareki, to sustain the pet project, Golden Initiatives for All (GIFA).
In his response, Governor Umo Eno expressed his gratitude to the 8th Assembly for their love, support, and the synergy that has fostered peace and development in the State.
He noted that the visit, along with the overwhelming condolence messages received through various channels, had been a source of great comfort to his family.
