Popular activist Aisha Yesufu has characterized the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) as a significant threat to opposition forces in Nigeria.

In a post shared on X, Yesufu asserted that the party has been in decline since 2014, claiming that its leadership has treated the Nigerian populace with disdain.

She expressed, “The same PDP that faced criticism back then is the very party you see now in ruins. It has been destroyed since 2014! They operated under the illusion that they were untouchable, treating Nigerians like outcasts.”

Yesufu emphasized her point, stating, “Let me reiterate: the PDP is a danger to opposition efforts.”

Currently, the PDP is grappling with an internal leadership crisis surrounding the position of National Chairman.

Also, Segun Sowunmi, a PDP stalwart and former spokesperson for Atiku Abubakar, has accused President Bola Tinubu of exacerbating the party’s turmoil.

Sowunmi criticized Tinubu for appointing Nyesom Wike as Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) without seeking input from the PDP’s elders.
