The management of the United Bank for Africa (UBA) led by the Group Managing Director, Mr. Oliver Alawuba, on Tuesday November 26, 2024, paid a condolence visit on the Governor of Akwa Ibom State, Pastor Umo Eno, at Government House, Uyo, over the passing of his wife, Pastor (Mrs) Patience Umo Eno.
Mr. Alawuba who led the delegation and spoke on behalf of the Chairman of the bank, Mr. Tony Elumelu, described the late First Lady as a “pillar of strength” who was always supportive of the Governor’s vision for the people of the State and expressed their deepest condolences to the Governor and his family.
“We are here at a very solemn moment. We came to express our deepest condolences to you on the passing of your wife, Her Excellency, Pastor (Mrs) Patience Umo Eno. She was always behind you each time we watched your activities on TV.
“May God console you and give your deceased wife a place in His bosom,” he said.
Responding, the Governor thanked the UBA team for their love and support and acknowledged that the loss of his wife is a difficult pill to swallow, but he has drawn consolation from visits like theirs.
While reflecting on his deceased wife’s memories, the Governor assured that he will continue to preserve her legacies both in office and out of office.
“We will do our best to continue to preserve her legacies. We’ll do that either in the office or out of the office.
“For me, I am still in shock, but who am I to question God? The Bible makes that very clear. I afflicted you, and I will heal you.
“It is difficult to lose someone you started with as teenagers, but God knows best” he said.
