Uber made a big announcement at their annual Go-Get showcase in New York City on Wednesday 15th May, unveiling a range of new products that are aimed at helping customers save money on rides and food.
These announcements reflect Uber’s ongoing efforts to drive growth and demand across their mobility and delivery business segments.
With these new features, Uber hopes to attract more riders and users to their app.
One of the key offerings announced is Uber Shuttle. This feature provides riders with a more affordable way to reach their destinations, whether it’s the airport, work, or live events.
Uber has partnered with local shuttle services to offer this service. The shuttles are going to be driven by commercially licensed drivers and can accommodate between 14 and 55 seats.
Users can reserve seats early in advance and receive a QR code ticket. Additionally, riders can track the location of their shuttle within 25 minutes of the departure time.
Uber assures that the shuttle rides will be a fraction of the price of an UberX ride and won’t be affected by surge pricing.
Another update is the introduction of Uber Caregiver. This feature allows users to add their caregivers directly to their profiles, enabling caregivers to book rides, order medical supplies, and groceries on behalf of the people they care for.
It also facilitates three-way chats between drivers, riders, and caregivers, ensuring seamless communication and coordination.
Uber is also introducing a new scheduling feature for shared rides called Schedule UberX Share.
Users can now schedule a shared ride in advance, saving more money on average compared to a typical UberX ride.
With this feature, riders can easily schedule their trips in advance with.
Initially, scheduled UberX Share rides will be available in cities with high return-to-office rates, with more locations to follow.
In addition to these updates, Uber is introducing a new feature called “Lists” to Uber Eats.
This feature allows users to curate and share lists of restaurants and go-to spots.
Users can create personalized lists to discover new dining options and share their recommendations with others.
