Lagos State Governor Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu has reaffirmed his administration’s dedication to creating a Lagos that exemplifies modernity, inclusivity, and innovation as part of the Vision 2052 initiative.

During the launch of the Lagos Digital Service Platform at the Art of Technology Lagos 6.0 event, themed ‘AI and The Lagos Digital Economy,’ held at the Landmark Event Centre in Victoria Island, Sanwo-Olu emphasized this commitment. He was represented by his Deputy, Dr. Kadri Obafemi Hamzat.

The Governor described the digital platform as a crucial transformative tool that embodies the state’s vision of accessible, transparent, and efficient governance. He asserted that it will strengthen the connection between the government and citizens, fostering trust while delivering impactful services.

“We are on a path to develop a Lagos that reflects modernity, inclusivity, and innovation. Our long-term development strategy prioritizes a robust economy, cutting-edge infrastructure to support a Smart City vision, governance that is responsive to the community’s needs, and a human-centric approach ensuring that no one is marginalized,” Sanwo-Olu stated.

He highlighted that his administration is laying the groundwork for a Lagos that aspires to be not just a technology hub but also a global model for sustainable urban development.

Emphasizing the importance of sustainability, Sanwo-Olu noted that his government remains committed to integrating advanced technologies such as Artificial Intelligence and blockchain into its initiatives.

He pointed out that Lagos is not merely Nigeria’s economic powerhouse, but also Africa’s foremost technology hub, accounting for over 60 percent of Nigeria’s tech startups, bolstered by accelerators, incubators, and major international tech companies.
