Bala Ibrahim, the Director of Publicity for the All Progressives Congress (APC), has revealed that members of the Labour Party are transitioning to the ruling party to gain insights into effective political maneuvering.

In an interview, Ibrahim highlighted that the quest for power is fundamental to politics and is a primary objective for all politicians. He asserted that the APC offers a robust platform for individuals seeking to realize their political aspirations.

“The pursuit of power is central to political engagement. Every individual involved in politics has an ambition, which typically revolves around acquiring power to implement their programs or those of their party, ultimately aimed at improving the lives of the people,” he stated.

Ibrahim emphasized the APC’s commitment to changing the narrative in governance and ensuring that Nigerians experience the benefits of democracy.

“Currently, the APC holds power at the national level and is dedicated to transforming the political landscape to ensure citizens enjoy the dividends of democracy.

“In the ongoing struggle among various political parties, including the Labour Party, many are crossing over to the APC for various reasons. Firstly, to learn the intricacies of political strategy, and secondly, to explore how they can fulfill their ambitions through the policies and programs offered by our party, as their current platform may not be providing the necessary opportunities,” he explained.

He further elaborated that the APC’s mission is focused on delivering good governance, enhancing education quality, tackling unemployment, and improving the overall quality of life for Nigerians.

When questioned about the party’s achievements since taking over from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in 2015, Ibrahim maintained that it is premature to evaluate the APC’s performance decisively.

“The APC is a progressive party rooted in the ambition of advancement. Our focus is on providing tangible benefits to the populace, including access to quality healthcare, improved facilities, education, job creation, and an overall enhancement of living standards.

“With nearly ten years in power—approximately eight years under Buhari and close to two years with Tinubu—comparing this with the two years of the PDP’s misrule demonstrates that it is still too early for a definitive assessment of our party’s accomplishments,” he concluded.
