Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, on Thursday, delivered 260 security vehicles and essential security equipment, including 1,000 ballistic helmets and bulletproof vests, to the police.

This initiative underscores his administration’s commitment to building a secure, proactive, and technology-empowered state.

Speaking at the 18th Annual Town Hall Meeting on Security, themed “Data and Technology-Driven Security: The Way Forward,” Sanwo-Olu called for continued collaboration between government agencies, citizens, and stakeholders to achieve a safer Lagos.

The event, attended by top security officials, including the Inspector General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, also highlighted significant strides in enhancing security through technology.

Sanwo-Olu reaffirmed the state’s dedication to supporting security agencies, utilizing data-driven solutions, and fostering private sector partnerships to enhance the state’s security architecture. He also commended key donors, including Zenith Bank, Femi Otedola, and Tony Elumelu, for their contributions.

The governor further detailed the state’s security enhancements, such as the installation of 450 Intelligent Video Surveillance Cameras across critical locations, designed to provide real-time alerts to security agencies.

IGP Egbetokun praised Lagos for its leadership in security initiatives, while Dr. Abdurrazaq Balogun, Executive Secretary of the Lagos State Security Trust Fund (LSSTF), noted the continued investments to ensure the safety of the state’s citizens.
