The Managing Director and CEO of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), Dr. Samuel Ogbuku, alongside the Executive Director of Finance and Administration, Hon. Alabo Boma Iyaye, and other directors, welcomed a delegation from the Rivers Ijaw People’s Congress.
The visit was led by Distinguished Senator George Thompson Sekibo, CON, at the NDDC headquarters in Port Harcourt.
Dr Ogbuku expressed enthusiasm for the visit and emphasised the Commission’s readiness to collaborate with reputable organisations that promote peace and development in the region.
He stated, “The NDDC is willing to partner with any organisation or group committed to achieving peace and sustainable development in the Niger Delta.
“Over the years, the Ijaw people have coexisted harmoniously with their neighbours, understanding that no single ethnic nationality can thrive without the support of others.”
Previously, Senator George Thompson Sekibo expressed confidence in Dr. Ogbuku’s management team, highlighting their dedication to fostering the desired development in the area.
He affirmed the group’s eagerness to partner with the NDDC to enhance peace and development in Rivers Ijaw communities, which aligns with their goals and objectives.
He stated, “We aim to provide a cohesive platform to ensure the collective progress, peace, and sustainable development of the Ijaw people in Rivers State.”
