Nyesom Wike, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), has called on the citizens of Rivers State to lend their support to President Bola Tinubu’s administration.
Wike made this appeal during a year-end thanksgiving service held in the Ochiba community within Ahoada-East Local Government Area. The event was organized by leaders and stakeholders of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) from both Ahoada-East and Ahoada-West LGAs.
The gathering saw the presence of notable figures, including former Abia State Governor, Dr. Okezie Ikpeazu; Senator Allwell Onyesoh, representing the Rivers East Senatorial district; PDP State Chairman, Hon. Chukwuemeka Aaron; and Chief Tony Okocha, the chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Rivers State.
As the former governor of Rivers State, Wike assured attendees that he would leverage his current position to benefit the people of the state. Addressing the ongoing political tension in Rivers, he encouraged his supporters to stay resolute and not be discouraged.
In a show of support for Wike, former Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Prince Chibudom Nwuche, commended him for his outstanding leadership in various public roles.
Nwuche expressed gratitude to President Tinubu for appointing someone with Wike’s capabilities as the minister for the FCT, emphasizing, “He has made significant changes in the Nigerian capital and left a lasting impact on Rivers State during his tenure as governor. Our community stands firmly behind you.”
