Governor Engr Seyi Makinde of Oyo State has officially launched a fleet of Southwest CNG buses, a project made possible through the collaboration of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), Oyo State Council, and the Central Working Committee (CWC) of the union.
The unveiling ceremony, which took place at the NLC secretariat in Agodi GRA, was attended by the Governor’s Deputy, Barr. Abdul-Raheem Adebayo Lawal emphasized the positive impact these CNG buses will have on transportation within the state.
Barr. Lawal described the introduction of CNG buses as a pivotal advancement for both workers and residents of Oyo State, marking a progressive move towards enhancing public transportation options.
He expressed gratitude to the Oyo NLC for their partnership with Governor Makinde in facilitating the efficient operation of the state. Additionally, he shared that the Oyo State government has also provided buses to support the mobility of workers and residents, especially in light of the current economic challenges, through the SAfER initiative.
Barr. Lawal further reassured the public that the Makinde administration is committed to upholding good governance and prioritizing the welfare of workers throughout the state.
