The Lagos State Police Command has officially verified the sudden passing of a man who was present to watch television at a local beer parlour within Lagos state.

According to Vanguard, it was said that SP Benjamin Hundeyin, the Police Command Public Relations officer confirmed it on Sunday.

It was also added by Hundeyin that the owner of the beer parlor, whose name wasn’t disclosed reported the case on Wednesday to Elere Police Division at about 7.00 p.m.

The owner of the beer parlor mentioned that the report indicated that the deceased customer, in his 50s, whose name and address were still unknown, arrived at the beer parlour which is situated along Lagos-Abeokuta Expressway at approximately 6.15 p.m.

The person handling the information mentioned that the bar owner added that the customer entered the open bar to take a seat and watch television just like the other customers, in which some were having drinks.

He (deceased customer) was later seen in a sleeping position on the chair, and an effort was made to wake him, however, it became evident that he had tragically passed away.

Detectives from the division visited the scene, and they found the body lifeless on the chair without any signs of violence.

It was stated by the source that the body has been taken to Mainland General Hospital Mortuary in Yaba, Lagos for an autopsy. The process of locating his family is currently underway.
