A Magistrate Court sitting in Ogba, Lagos State, has adjourned the child custody proceedings between Queen Oyekanmi and Promise Anagbogu, popularly known as Lord Lamba, to July 18 for hearing. The adjournment came after the skit maker failed to appear in court on Thursday, leading to a delay in the proceedings.

According to sources, Lord Lamba’s lawyer was also absent from the hearing. Instead of attending personally, the lawyer sent a representative who informed the court that she had no information regarding the reason for the skit maker’s absence. This unexpected development prompted the court to reschedule the hearing.

A source close to the matter revealed, “Today was the scheduled court hearing, and Queen was present, but her baby daddy didn’t show up. His lawyer was also absent and sent an assistant in his place. Because Lord Lamba didn’t appear in court, his lawyer requested a new date. Consequently, the hearing has been postponed to the 18th of July.”

This case, which involves the custody of the child between Queen Oyekanmi and Lord Lamba, has drawn considerable attention due to the public profiles of those involved. Queen Oyekanmi is reportedly seeking a resolution that ensures the best interests of their child are prioritized, while Lord Lamba’s failure to attend court proceedings has raised questions about his commitment to resolving the matter.

The court’s decision to adjourn the case to July 18 allows both parties additional time to prepare their arguments and gather any necessary documentation or evidence. It also provides an opportunity for Lord Lamba and his legal team to address their reasons for not attending the initial hearing.

As the new hearing date approaches, it is expected that both parties will present their cases more comprehensively, and the court will then be able to make an informed decision regarding the custody arrangements that will best serve the child’s welfare.
