Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University Bauchi has intensified efforts to enhance the research capabilities of its faculty members. This initiative aims to equip young academics with the necessary skills to navigate future challenges and opportunities in their academic journey.

To achieve this goal, the university’s Directorate of Research Innovation and Development organized a two-day training program. Acting Vice Chancellor, Professor Sani Usman Kunya, emphasized the significance of the workshop, urging participants to apply their newfound knowledge effectively, especially during these challenging times.

He highlighted the university’s ethos, emphasizing that it’s not merely a place to amass wealth but rather a platform for sacrifice and contribution to national development through research.

The training sessions were not limited to discussions but also focused on practical learning to enable participants to devise effective models for training other students and changing the existing academic landscape.

Director of Research and Development, Professor Fatima Sawa, underscored the importance of the training in preparing young academics to thrive in today’s interconnected world. She emphasized that the knowledge gained would be transformative, benefiting both individuals and the university community as a whole.

A total of 150 young academics were carefully selected to participate in the workshop, reflecting the university’s commitment to nurturing talent and fostering a culture of research excellence. The training equips participants with essential knowledge about research funding opportunities and strategies to overcome academic hurdles.
