The Nigeria Police Force, Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Command, has launched an investigation into the mysterious death of a crossdresser whose body was found along the Katampe-Mabushi expressway in Abuja.

The deceased, whose identity has not yet been determined, was discovered early Friday morning dressed in female clothing, prompting a distress call to the Command Control Room at approximately 7:40 am.

In a statement issued by the FCT Police Public Relations Officer, SP Josephine Adeh, it was disclosed that FCT Commissioner of Police, Benneth Igweh, has directed a thorough investigation into the incident.

The statement read, “In response to a distress call received by the Command Control Room on 08/08/2024 at about 07:40 am, indicating that an unidentified lady was seen lying motionless along the Katampe-Mabushi expressway, a team of detectives was immediately dispatched to the scene.”

Preliminary investigations have revealed that the deceased was a male dressed in female attire and had no form of identification on him.

CP Benneth Igweh has ordered a comprehensive and discreet investigation to uncover the circumstances surrounding the death.
