The Action Peoples Party (APP) in Rivers State has praised Governor Siminalayi Fubara for his outstanding leadership in fostering economic growth and development within the state.
Chairman of the party, Hon. Sunny Wokekoro, expressed his appreciation for Governor Fubara’s recent presentation of the 2025 budget to the Rivers State House of Assembly, which is headed by Right Honorable Victor Oku Jumbo.
Hon. Wokekoro noted that the 2024 budget has greatly benefited the residents of Rivers State, highlighting a remarkable increase in the state’s internally generated revenue. “Under Governor Fubara’s guidance, our internally generated revenue has surged from nearly nothing to 100 billion in a short timeframe,” he remarked.
He also praised the state government’s impressive developmental initiatives, which have been achieved without incurring any debt. “We commend the Governor for his wise leadership and congratulate him on presenting the 2025 budget to the House of Assembly,” he added.
The 2025 budget, named “Budget of Inclusive Growth and Development,” allocates N462,254,153,418 for recurrent expenses and N678,088,433,692 for capital projects, amounting to a total of N1,188,962,739,932.
Hon. Wokekoro expressed optimism that this budget will further enhance human and capital development in the state.
As the main opposition party in Rivers State, the APP chairman noted that the party is enthusiastic and closely observing the developments. “Our prayers and support are with the state government,” he concluded.
