The Adamawa State Police Command has successfully apprehended two individuals suspected of armed robbery and recovered a stolen vehicle.
According to a statement released on Friday, June 7, 2024, by the command’s spokesperson, SP Suleiman Yahaya Nguroje, the suspects were involved in an attack on Daiso Kyrian in Awka, the capital of Anambra State, where his car was stolen.
“On 20/05/2024, the Adamawa State Police Command received a complaint from one Daiso Kyrian that on 12/04/2024, armed robbers attacked him in Awka, Anambra State shot him, and stole away his Lexus Jeep RX 330,” the statement read.
Upon receiving the report, the command’s surveillance team launched a thorough investigation. “Luckily, one Saidu Mohammed, aged 30 years of Gombi LGA, was arrested in possession of the said vehicle,” Nguroje said.
Further investigation led to the arrest of another suspect, 25-year-old Rabiu Idris, also from Gombi LGA, in connection with the case.
The Commissioner of Police, CP Dankombo Morris, commended the officers involved and reaffirmed the command’s commitment to ensuring the safety and security of the state. “More details soon,” he added.
