The Super Eagles of Nigeria on Tuesday held their first training session at the training pitch of the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium in Uyo.

Twenty players took part in the first training session under the new interim boss Augustine Eguavoen.

Following a series of negotiations for a permanent solution to the super Eagles management job to replace Finidi George who resigned after two woeful performances for the team.

The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) resorted to reappointing Eguavoen who is the technical director of the NFF to oversee Nigeria’s Nations cup qualifiers against the cheetahs of Benin Republic and Rwanda.

Benin Republic will visit Nigeria on Saturday at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium as the Super Eagles will fly out to Kigali to face Rwanda on Monday.

Captain William Troost-Ekong, Ola Aina, Semi Ajayi, Olisa Ndah, Ademola Lookman, Nwabali, Alex Iwobi, Calvin Bassey, Taiwo Awoniyi, Wilfred Ndidi, Obasegie, cruise lover Victor Boniface, Dele-Bashiru, Moses Simon, Yusuf, Frank Onyeka, Samuel Chukwueze, Taminu, Raphael Onyedika and Onyeamachi all took part in the first training session.

Other members of the squad are expected to arrive tomorrow including Victor Osimhen who just signed for Turkish side Galatasaray.
