Sonny Echono, the Executive Secretary of the Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETFund), has underscored the role that education and entrepreneurship play in unlocking Africa’s potential and propelling the continent toward greatness.
Speaking at an event where he received the Africa Leadership Excellence Award in Educational Development, Echono highlighted the importance of integrating entrepreneurial skills into the educational system as a means to drive sustainable development.
The summit, themed “Africa Unleashed: Navigating Disruptions, Enhancing Opportunities,” brought together global leaders, policymakers, and business executives to discuss and explore strategies for socio-economic advancement across the continent. Echono emphasized that the theme is a call to action, urging leaders to actively engage in creating robust policies that address the unique challenges facing Africa while also seizing emerging opportunities.

Looking to the future, Echono announced plans to establish new research laboratories, innovation hubs, and entrepreneurship centers across Nigeria.
