As part of activities marking the 37th anniversary of State creation, the Governor of Akwa Ibom State, Pastor Umo Eno today, led both past and present leaders across the State to a special thanksgiving service held at the International Christian Worship Center, Uyo.
The well attended service with the theme, “Peace within thy Walls and Prosperity within thy Palaces,” had among the worshipers, the Senate President represented by the wife, Mrs Ekaette Unoma Akpabio, Deputy Governor, Senator Akon Eyakenyi, immediate past Governor, Mr Udom Emmanuel and wife, Dr. Mrs Martha Udom Emmanuel, Father of modern Akwa Ibom, Architect Obong Victor Attah, Speaker of the State Assembly, Elder Udeme Otong, State Chief Judge, Justice Ekaette Obot, members of the State Executive Council, members of the National Assembly, Members of the State House of Assembly, Traditional fathers, religious leaders, socio-cultural groups, and many others.
The event which is to commemorate the state anniversary has been a piece of unity within the state.
Akwa Ibom will be 37 years old in the next few days and the state Governor Pastor Umo Eno has designed the state celebration in a timetable as events will overshadow the state week.
