In the face of Nigeria’s economic challenges, activist and politician Aisha Yesufu has openly criticized President Bola Tinubu, branding him as a detrimental figure.

Her comments came in response to remarks made by Senator Ali Ndume of Borno South, who suggested that individuals close to Tinubu are contributing to the nation’s economic difficulties.

Ndume pointed out that these individuals are behind the “harmful policies” associated with Tinubu’s administration, which are distracting from urgent issues like controlling inflation and stabilizing the exchange rate.

According to Ndume, these advisers are actively working to undermine Tinubu’s leadership, expressing alarm over the increasing costs of fuel, food, and other essential items.

He stated: “Those intent on tarnishing the President’s reputation will go to great lengths to inflict suffering on Nigerians through ineffective reforms, ultimately placing the blame on President Tinubu. I believe he genuinely wants the best for Nigeria and its citizens, as I understand his principles. However, some of his advisors do not have the best interests of the country at heart and mislead him with poor advice.”

In reaction to these statements, Yesufu took to X to assert her position, declaring, “Tinubu is the bad person. Let’s be honest and call a spade a spade, not a garden tool.”
