The budget, christened the “Budget of Recovery,” was presented to the State House of Assembly on December 10, 2024. The ₦698.659 billion budget surpasses the ₦395.257 billion outlay of the 2024 fiscal year. The signing ceremony took place at the Cocoa Conference Hall of the Governor’s Office.

Highlighting the priorities of the 2025 budget, Governor Aiyedatiwa stated that 36.40% of the total allocation is earmarked for infrastructure and development, 11.80% for education, and 8.60% for agricultural development.

The governor emphasized that the budget was crafted to address the needs of the people, reflecting inputs from town hall meetings with stakeholders across the state.
“This budget reflects our collective vision for the future of Ondo State. It demonstrates that through collaboration, we can achieve great things for our people,” he said.

The budget allocates ₦433.62 billion (62.06%) to capital expenditure and ₦265.037 billion (37.94%) to recurrent expenditure. According to Aiyedatiwa, the focus on capital development is intended to stimulate the economy and drive infrastructure renewal across the state.

“Our goal is to make life easier for the people of Ondo State. This is a sacrosanct and non-negotiable objective,” the governor reiterated.

He also noted that key sectors like agriculture, education, healthcare, and social welfare have been prioritized to address critical needs.

Governor Aiyedatiwa pledged transparency and accountability in the implementation of the budget. He announced the availability of the budget document on the state’s budget portal and assured residents that data-driven decision-making and rigorous monitoring would guide its execution.

“We are committed to ensuring that every Naira spent improves livelihoods and builds a sustainable future for generations to come,” he said.

The governor reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to economic development, social inclusion, and security.
“The 2025 budget is a tool for achieving our developmental goals. Its implementation will be carried out with the utmost responsibility and efficiency,” he concluded.
