Manchester United head coach Rubén Amorim has defended his goalkeeper André Onana after his blunder gifted Nottingham Forest a second half lead.
United returned from halftime break with the scored tied at 1-1.
But both Bruno Fernandes and André Onana contributed to United’s unfortunate second goal of the afternoon.
Fernandes sent a wrong pass to Leny Yoro who was traveling from defence to join the attack.
But the Portuguese pass went straight to former Chelsea man Hudson Odoi who spotted England man Gibbs-White at the edge of the box to fire Forest into the lead.
The strike which went straight to André Onana who was was already stranded in goal and could do nothing to prevent the ball from entering the net.
Following the defeat at Old Trafford by Nottingham Forest, United coach Rubén Amorim Backs Onana after describing the situation as unfortunate, claiming that United needed to support Onana in hard times.
“André has saved us a lot of times!”. Amorim was quoted by Fabrizio Romano.
“We have to find a way when mistake happen. We have to turn it around to help our goalkeeper. The same way he saves us at Ipswich”. He added.
