Professor Chukwuma Soludo, the Governor of Anambra State, has officially removed Mr. Paul Nwosu from his position as Commissioner for Information, primarily due to accusations of ineffectiveness in his role.
Nwosu, who had been serving since Soludo took office in 2022, was reportedly dismissed from his post on Tuesday.
A source familiar with the situation revealed that Nwosu’s lack of effective management in his responsibilities led to this decisive action.
In light of Nwosu’s departure, Mr. Law Mefor has been proposed as his successor, pending approval from the Anambra State House of Assembly, which is anticipated to confirm his appointment soon.
Despite the circumstances surrounding his exit, Nwosu stated that his resignation was voluntary, citing personal reasons for stepping down after an eight-year tenure under former Governor Willie Obiano, before continuing with Soludo’s administration.
However, insiders have pointed out that Nwosu was notably absent from public engagements during his time in office, with reports indicating he did not hold any press conferences or maintain consistent communication with the media since his appointment.
