The leadership of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) has named Governor Bassey Otu of Cross River State as the chairman of its reconciliation committee. This appointment was disclosed early Monday in a communiqué issued from the South South zonal conference held in Calabar on Sunday.

The communiqué stated, “We have resolved to set up a reconciliation committee in the South-South region. This will be headed by HE Sen. Bassey Otu, governor of Cross River State.”

The committee aims to address any existing divisions, promote collaboration, and work towards reinforcing the party’s influence and unity in the region.

Additionally, the communiqué reiterated the party’s steadfast support for the policies and programs of President Bola Tinubu’s administration, emphasizing commitments to good governance, economic reforms, national security, and infrastructural development.

The APC also expressed their determination to mobilize party resources to secure victory in the upcoming Edo State governorship election, demonstrating their resolve to gain more states under their leadership.
