Abdullahi Ganduje, the national chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has expressed strong optimism that the party will soon regain control of Rivers State.
During a recent event in Abuja, Ganduje highlighted plans to “rebuild and reposition” the APC’s presence in Rivers, aiming to establish a solid foothold in the region.
His remarks came as Dr. Dawari Ibietela George, the 2023 governorship candidate for the Action Alliance (AA), officially rejoined the APC. The two leaders discussed strategies for revitalizing the party’s chapter in Rivers State, focusing on creating a platform that effectively serves both the state and the nation.
Ganduje reiterated the party’s dedication to inclusivity and fairness, stating that they would embrace diverse interests within their ranks. He referred to George as a “big fish” in politics, praising his skills and expressing confidence that George’s involvement would enhance the party’s influence in the state.
“Rivers State will be entirely APC,” Ganduje asserted, emphasizing his aspirations following George’s return. He welcomed him warmly, assuring that a strong support structure would be established to integrate him and other returning members into the party.
“You are now equal members alongside everyone else in the party. Our goal is to expand democracy across the country,” Ganduje added.
The gathering at the APC national headquarters featured several notable party leaders, including members of the National Working Committee such as Chief Hon Victor Giadom, Vice Chairman for the South-South, Hon Titsi Ganama, the 2023 APC Deputy Governorship Candidate in Adamawa State, and numerous former colleagues of Dr. George from the House of Representatives.
