Abdullahi Ganduje, the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has asserted that he will not be swayed by demands for his arrest related to alleged corruption charges. In a statement released on Monday by his Senior Special Assistant on Public Enlightenment, Oliver Okpala, Ganduje described the calls for his apprehension as unjustified.

This declaration comes in response to a petition co-signed by Dr. Johnson Nebechi and Comrade Umar Ideresu, representing the National Anti-Corruption Alliance (NACA), which urged the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) to investigate Ganduje’s activities.

However, the former Governor of Kano State emphasized that the matter is already being addressed in court, suggesting that the petitioners should refrain from introducing new allegations regarding an ongoing legal issue.

“The claims in their petition are central to several cases filed by the Kano State government against Dr. Ganduje, which are still active in the judiciary,” Okpala explained.

He further noted that some of the allegations mentioned by NACA had previously been dismissed in Ganduje’s favor by the Federal High Court, while other matters are still awaiting resolution in court. He argued that bringing these issues to law enforcement agencies at this stage constitutes sub judice.

“Nigeria operates under the rule of law; the judiciary deserves the space to perform its duties without pressure or intimidation,” Okpala asserted.

He characterized NACA as “political hirelings” aiming to damage Ganduje’s reputation, claiming their actions are politically motivated and lack credible evidence or legal foundation.
