Musa Illiyasu Kwankwaso, a prominent member of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kano, has sharply criticized the organizers of the EndBadGovernance protests, accusing them of failing in their alleged attempts to undermine the administration of President Ahmad Bola Tinubu.

Kwankwaso labeled those behind the protests as “enemies of the country,” suggesting that their actions were driven by political motives rather than genuine concern for the nation’s well-being. He argued that their efforts to cast blame on President Tinubu and Vice President Kashim Shettima for the country’s economic hardships were baseless.

“The organizers only did what they did to show their hatred and enmity towards President Tinubu and Vice President Kashim Shettima’s unrelenting efforts in turning the country into a better place to live,” Kwankwaso stated. “They did that to whip up sentiments aimed at denting the image of President Tinubu and Vice President Shettima and to imply that they were responsible for the hunger and starvation the country is experiencing, while in reality, they inherited a bad government but are doing their best to salvage the situation.”

He further asserted that the protests, rather than harming the reputations of Tinubu and Shettima, had inadvertently boosted their popularity.

In addition to his critique of the protests, Kwankwaso, who previously served as a commissioner under the administration of Umar Abdullahi Ganduje, issued a stern warning to Nigerian governors regarding the proper use of the federal government’s N570 billion allocations to the states. He cautioned that any governor who mismanages or diverts these funds for personal gain would face divine retribution.

“Regarding the N570 billion given to all 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory, the governors should fear God because posterity will not forgive them if they mismanage the funds or divert them for personal use,” he stated, urging them to utilize the funds for the employment of youths and women in their respective states.
