The All Progressives Congress (APC) has labeled Peter Obi, the presidential candidate for the Labour Party (LP) in the 2023 elections, as a habitual complainer.
Felix Morka, the National Publicity Secretary of the APC, stated that Obi consistently refuses to accept any election outcomes that do not favor him or his endorsed candidates. During an interview, Morka emphasized that Obi’s views regarding the recent governorship election in Edo State hold no significance.
Morka remarked, “Peter Obi has established himself as a chronic complainer who cannot concede the results of any election that does not align with his expectations or those of his candidates. Since the 2023 elections, he has been in a continuous state of denial regarding the results. Now, he has turned his attention to disputing the Edo State election outcomes.”
He continued, “Whatever he perceives about the Edo elections is utterly inconsequential. Candidates like Akpata and Ighodalo have a vested interest in this election, and if they are dissatisfied, their appropriate course of action is to seek redress in court and substantiate their claims. They are currently disseminating unverified allegations.”
Morka criticized Obi’s supporters, saying, “I have yet to see any of them present concrete evidence to back their grandiose claims. In a court of law, it’s not enough to make headlines; one must provide solid evidence to support their arguments for winning the election.”
In the Edo State governorship election, LP candidate Olumide Akpata received 22,763 votes, while Monday Okpebholo of the APC claimed victory with 291,667 votes. Asue Ighodalo from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) came in third with 247,274 votes.
