The All Progressives Congress (APC) has confidently asserted that President Bola Tinubu holds a significant political advantage over former President Olusegun Obasanjo, New Nigeria Peoples Party’s Rabiu Kwankwaso, and Peter Obi of the Labour Party (LP).
Bala Ibrahim, the National Publicity Director of APC, stated that neither Kwankwaso, Obi, nor Obasanjo represents a credible challenge to Tinubu’s leadership. His comments came in response to a recent meeting involving Kwankwaso, Donald Duke, and Obasanjo.
This gathering took place in Absolute, Ogun State, where Kwankwaso described the meeting as a courtesy call focused on important discussions regarding Nigeria’s political and governance landscape.
However, Ibrahim dismissed the significance of the meeting, emphasizing that Tinubu’s political presence and influence far surpass those of the attendees.
In his statement, Ibrahim remarked that the alliance of Obasanjo, Kwankwaso, and Duke lacks the potential for any substantial impact. He stated, “In the realm of Nigerian politics, especially contemporary dynamics, Tinubu stands unmatched.”
He further asserted, “Tinubu is clearly superior to them in the current political landscape of Nigeria. Therefore, the coalition of Obasanjo, Kwankwaso, Peter Obi, and Donald Duke, who happens to be my former classmate, poses no threat to Tinubu. These individuals were decisively defeated in the previous election.”
Ibrahim concluded by emphasizing that regardless of how many meetings they hold, they will not be able to challenge the APC government. “Who among Kwankwaso, Obasanjo, Obi, or Duke can claim victory? Unless they bring in angels, the outcome remains unchanged.”
