Jesutega Onokpasa, a prominent member of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has expressed his outrage towards President Bola Ahmed Tinubu regarding the recent appointment of Daniel Bwala, a former campaign aide to Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) presidential candidate Atiku Abubakar.
Bwala, who was initially named Special Adviser on Media and Public Communication, was re-designated on Monday night as Special Adviser on Policy Communication.
In a video that circulated online, Onokpasa vented his frustration over Bwala’s new role, reminding viewers of the former aide’s derogatory remarks about Tinubu and other APC leaders during the 2023 election campaign.
Onokpasa accused Tinubu of betraying and disrespecting those who supported him throughout his campaign efforts.
“Dear President Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, I am extremely upset with you. How could you appoint someone like Daniel Bwala, who publicly insulted you by labeling you a drug dealer? You’ve turned your back on us and humiliated us by bringing someone into your inner circle who ridiculed us during the campaign,” he stated.
“What is happening, your excellency? You’ve criticized leaders like Yahaya Bello and El-Rufai, yet you’ve turned your back on Fani Kayode. We stood by you. Those who opposed us are now being rewarded with positions. I don’t seek any favors from you; my faith in the Lord Jesus sustains me every day.
“It’s disgraceful that you would betray us in this manner and appoint a questionable character, someone whose true allegiance is unclear. What criteria did you use for this appointment? We are the ones who helped elevate you to power. God used us to make you a leader.”
