A key figure in the All Progressives Congress (APC), Alhaji (Dr.) Ilyasu Musa Kwankwaso, has called on former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, Labour Party presidential candidate Peter Obi, and his fellow NNPP presidential contender, Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, to step up as patriotic leaders by proposing solutions to alleviate the current challenges facing Nigeria.
He stressed that these political figures should focus on helping citizens cope with the hardships rather than consistently criticizing President Bola Tinubu’s administration.
Kwankwaso stated, “Instead of targeting President Bola Tinubu with attacks, Atiku, Peter Obi, and Kwankwaso should work towards providing relief for Nigerians trapped in cycles of poverty, hunger, and deprivation.”
The APC member and former three-time Kano State Commissioner for Rural and Community Development acknowledged the suffering of Nigerians but also pointed out that the Tinubu administration is making significant efforts to improve citizens’ lives, which deserves support rather than condemnation.
He emphasized the government’s commitment to reviving the economy and addressing ongoing security issues, commending Defence Minister Abubakar Badaru, Minister of State for Defence Bello Matawalle, and National Security Adviser Malam Nuhu Ribadu for their dedicated efforts to tackle security challenges.
Kwankwaso criticized his namesake, Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, for failing to assist his constituents and supporters in Kano, as well as those in neighboring Katsina and Jigawa, despite being the presidential candidate for the NNPP.
He also pointed out that Atiku, during his tenure as Nigeria’s second-in-command, has not taken sufficient steps to alleviate the struggles faced by the populace.
Kwankwaso underscored that Nigeria is at a critical juncture that necessitates unity among its citizens to address the nation’s pressing issues.
“We cannot merely critique the federal government; we must also propose actionable solutions to improve the situation,” he concluded.
