Abdullahi Ganduje, the national chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), along with other party stakeholders, has urged members in Kano State to come together in order to reclaim power from the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) administration.

Ganduje made this appeal during a dinner event celebrating members of the Kano State House of Assembly affiliated with the APC, which honoured notable figures such as Rt. Hon. Kabiru Rurum, Rt. Hon. Hamisu Chidari, and others.

Speaking through the state party chairman, Abdullahi Abbas, Ganduje emphasized that unity is essential for the APC to regain its influence in the upcoming 2027 elections. “Divine intervention is on our side; the current administration is already mismanaging the state, and we are simply waiting for the right moment,” he stated. “The next election will be as easy as removing a hen from its nest.”

The former governor expressed disbelief at Rabiu Kwankwaso, founder of the NNPP, for claiming to have widespread support. “I can swear that if not for internal issues that led some of us to leave, he wouldn’t have secured any electoral victories in the state. This time, he will realize that those who once supported him are now disillusioned and regretful.”

Ganduje asserted, “We have moved past the Kwankwasiyya movement. Even the current governor is unaware of the ongoing dissatisfaction.”

In addition, Yusuf Ata, the Minister of State for Housing and Urban Development, voiced concerns about the lack of unity within the Kano APC. “Our primary focus in Kano should be unity. The upcoming elections should not intimidate us; if they were to happen today, we should not fear,” he remarked.

Ata urged party members to collaborate to reclaim Kano, lamenting the current state of leadership. “The way the state is being governed is unacceptable, and nobody is satisfied with the current leadership,” he concluded.
