The All Progressives Congress (APC) reconciliation committee in Adamawa State, under the leadership of Senator Muhammed Mana, has expressed its commitment to regaining control of the state from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the upcoming 2027 elections.
According to reports, the APC has been grappling with internal issues that has resulted in factional divisions within the party. In response, the National Secretariat established a reconciliation committee to foster unity among its members.
The eight-member team includes prominent figures such as Senators Bello Tukur, Abubakar Girei, Binta Masi, along with Yusuf Buba Yakubu, Dr. Bridget Zidon, and Isa Baba.
After a closed-door meeting at the APC national secretariat in Abuja on Thursday evening, Mana, who chairs the committee, stated that their primary mission, as directed by the party’s National Chairman Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, is to resolve internal conflicts and bring members together.
The committee is set to commence its initiatives promptly, aiming to engage party members at the unit, ward, and local government levels.
Mana emphasized that their focus will be on reaching out to dissatisfied members, rekindling grassroots connections, and fortifying the party’s framework. He remarked, “Adamawa is a crucial state for the APC, and we are determined to restore it to its previous standing. We will return to the state and advocate for unity.”
He acknowledged that the discord stemmed from the primary and general elections, noting that many individuals who felt overlooked or inadequately recognized for their contributions need to be approached and reconciled.
“Our aim is to appeal to our party members and extend our outreach down to the grassroots—unit, local government, and ward levels—to ensure that everyone is included and united under the APC’s banner,” Mana stated.
“Our objective is to establish a foundation for unity and to cultivate the next generation of leaders,” he concluded.
