The Kaduna State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has urged the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to stop tarnishing its reputation with unfounded allegations and misleading propaganda.

In a statement by State Secretary Alhaji Yahaya Baba Pate, the APC dismissed the PDP’s claims linking the ruling party to an alleged assassination attempt on Senator Lawal Adamu Usman, who represents Kaduna Central in the National Assembly.

Labelling these accusations as “false and absurd,” the APC called on the PDP to concentrate on its responsibilities as a constructive opposition instead of propagating unverified claims.

“Kaduna State is on a path of growth and stability, and no amount of fabricated narratives or staged incidents can hinder this progress,” the statement affirmed.

The APC criticized the PDP for its troubling tendency to issue poorly thought-out and blatantly false statements, which undermine serious public discourse.

The ruling party pointed out that the Kaduna Police Command has not received any formal complaint from Senator Usman regarding the alleged incident, nor has he engaged in ongoing investigations.

“Despite multiple outreach efforts by law enforcement, he has remained unresponsive. Thus, it is perplexing how the PDP arrived at such unfounded accusations against the APC regarding this incident,” the party contended.

Furthermore, the ruling party encouraged Senator Usman and the PDP to collaborate with law enforcement to clarify the situation, warning that failing to do so might lead to suspicions that the alleged assassination attempt is a fabrication intended to discredit the APC and disrupt peace in Kaduna State.

“The APC strongly suspects that certain opportunists are manipulating the PDP to undermine the significant progress achieved through Senator Uba Sani’s inclusive and community-focused administration,” the statement added.

Reaffirming its dedication to the state’s development, the APC reiterated that its priority is to provide good governance to the people of Kaduna.

“As our governor, Senator Uba Sani has proclaimed, 2025 is our Year of Fulfillment. We will not be diverted by groundless allegations or unnecessary provocations,” the APC concluded.

The party emphasized the need for the opposition to adhere to standards of responsible political engagement, asserting that the peace and progress of Kaduna must remain the top priority.
