The All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) has firmly advised the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) to abandon its hopes of winning elections in Anambra State, asserting that the APC lacks the necessary political infrastructure to achieve success in the region.
APGA National Chairman Sly Ezeokenwa made these remarks in response to a recent statement by APC National Chairman Abdullahi Ganduje, who urged party members to work towards integrating Anambra into the APC ahead of the 2025 governorship election.
During a press conference in Abuja on Friday, Ezeokenwa emphasized that the APC does not have a meaningful presence in Anambra State, pointing out that it lacks both a functional structure and elected representatives.
Adding to Ezeokenwa’s comments, the immediate past National Chairman and current member of the party’s Board of Trustees, Victor Oye, expressed skepticism about Ganduje’s aspirations, saying, “While Ganduje is my friend, isn’t it amusing that his home state of Kano is now under the control of the NNPP, yet he is focused on Anambra?”
Oye further stated, “Governor Chukwuma Soludo’s second term is already secured, especially with the Supreme Court ruling that confirmed APGA’s leadership.”
