Capt. Roy Ilegbodu, CEO of Arik Air Ltd has announced that the airline will resume flight operations on August 8.
In a statement released in Lagos, Ilegbodu assured customers that the airline is committed to a smooth and seamless return to service. He expressed confidence in providing the comfort and reliability that Arik Air is known for.
“During our brief pause, we have been dedicated to ensuring a smooth and seamless return to service, preparing to welcome you back on board with the comfort and reliability you expect from us,” said Ilegbodu.
“Our entire team has been working tirelessly to enhance your travel experience. From our friendly ground staff to our attentive flight crews, everyone at Arik Air is ready and eager to serve you once again,” he added.
Ilegbodu also extended gratitude to all stakeholders who played crucial roles in resolving the recent issues, acknowledging that their support was instrumental in the airline’s return to operation.
Recall in July, the Nigerian Airspace Management Authority (NAMA) had grounded Arik Air’s operations due to an alleged $2.5 million debt owed to Atlas Petroleum International Ltd.
Additionally, on August 2, the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) suspended Arik Air’s flight operations and grounded three of its aircraft—5NMJF, 5NMJQ, and 5NBKX.
