Indications have emerged that the children’s recreational park at the ongoing ARISE Park project will be ready for use in December 2024.

The State Governor, Pastor Umo Eno, Ph.D., made this known during an unscheduled visit to the project site on Dominic Utuk Avenue, Uyo.

He stated that the golf course has been completed and is undergoing a test run prior to the December commissioning.

Governor Eno acknowledged that the gully erosion, which was nearly destroying houses in the area, has been halted and expressed particular appreciation for the progress of work.

“There is always a very noticeable difference when we come here. I think the contractor is keeping to the milestones, and we are happy.

“For me, we have already achieved our primary objective. We have stopped the gully erosion from advancing and endangering more homes and lives. We are also steadily realizing the vision of having a recreational park here.

“I am happy; the contractor has assured us, and I am confident he will speak for himself.

“During the upcoming Christmas season, we should be able to commission parts of this project, particularly the children’s park. We are working to achieve this for the Christmas season.

“The golf course is ready, and I understand that people have started testing and practicing on it, which is good news.”

He commended the contractor for the pace of work, noting that the firm has aligned with the vision of the recreational park project.

Echoing the December deadline for the children’s park and golf course completion, the Managing Director of Bulletine Construction Company Limited, Chief Faysal Harb, said, “We are moving as planned.

“Just as His Excellency has said, parts of this facility will be in use this December, especially the children’s playground, football field, lawn tennis court, basketball and volleyball courts, and all other sporting facilities, which will be ready for use this December.”

The Governor was accompanied by the Secretary to the State Government, Prince Enobong Uwah, and other top government officials.
