Nigerian music sensation Ahmed Ololade, popularly known as Asake, has made history by surpassing his fellow Nigerian artist Burna Boy as the artist with the most songs on the Billboard U.S. Afrobeats Songs chart.

This remarkable achievement comes as Asake debuts nine tracks from his latest album, Lungu Boy, on this week’s Billboard U.S. Afrobeats Songs chart. With these new entries, Asake’s total chart appearances have now reached an impressive 50, setting a new record.

Leading the pack is his hit song “Active,” featuring American rapper Travis Scott, which has claimed the top spot on the chart.

The Billboard U.S. Afrobeats Songs chart, launched in April 2022, has quickly become a dominant platform for Nigerian artists. Since its inception, the chart has been largely controlled by talents from Nigeria, reflecting the global rise of Afrobeats.
