In the spirit of the recent Eid-El-Kabir celebration, Atiku Abubakar, former Vice President and Presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the 2023 general elections, paid a special visit to Generals Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida and Abdulsalami Abubakar at their Uphill residences in Minna, the capital of Niger State.
The esteemed Waziri Adamawa joined the two former Nigerian leaders and elder statesmen in commemorating the joyous occasion of Eid-el-Kabir, alongside other distinguished guests.
Atiku recognized the significance of paying homage to these two esteemed individuals, who are not only symbols of democracy in Nigeria, but also hold great reverence across Africa and the world.
He extended heartfelt felicitations to both generals and to Muslims around the globe who were celebrating the Sallah festival.
Emphasizing the true essence of Eid, Atiku referred to the teachings of the holy scriptures, which remind believers that the celebration goes beyond mere festivities. It serves as a reminder to practice forbearance and compassion in all aspects of life.
“The message of Eid al-Adha is a reminder to love one another and maintain peaceful relationships,” Atiku stated. “Its fundamental purpose is to instill trust in the Almighty God at all times.”
He also urged Muslims in Nigeria and worldwide to embody the teachings and practices of Prophet Muhammad (SAW) and to be exemplary ambassadors of their faith.
Expressing their gratitude, former Military President General Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida and former Head of State General Abdulsalami Abubakar commended Atiku for his kind gesture and for honoring them during this auspicious Sallah period.
In an atmosphere of warmth and camaraderie, heartfelt conversations ensued, and the former leaders bestowed prayers and blessings upon Atiku Abubakar, symbolizing the strong bond they share.
Later, behind closed doors at the Uphill Mansion in Minna, General Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida and Atiku Abubakar engaged in a private discussion, further cementing their longstanding relationship.
