Former Labour Party Vice Presidential candidate, Yusuf Baba-Ahmed, firmly maintains that he and Peter Obi were the rightful winners of the 2023 presidential election. Baba-Ahmed expressed his unwavering stance during an appearance on Arise Television’s Prime Time programme on Friday. He claimed that the Independent National Electoral Commission’s (INEC) Result Viewing portal (IRev) was deactivated and that results were processed manually instead.
Baba-Ahmed stated, “Not at all. We hold our heads high. When we look at the campaign promises of the APC or the current government, what have they achieved? The iRev was switched off. They returned the results manually. And then the Constitution was twisted, and the meaning of the English language was changed. We won the 2023 election. I will never stop saying it.”
He further added that the Labour Party is in a stronger position now compared to the CPC in 2013/2014 leading up to the 2015 election. He urged people to observe the ongoing failures, worsening insecurity, declining economy, and increasing corruption. He warned that by 2027, Nigerians might realize there is a plan to divide the country into six autonomous zones, as this seems to be the only way to explain the persistent failures and the potential attempt to escape responsibility.
