Spanish club Barcelona has on Friday announced the departure of German midfielder Ilkay Gundogan.

Gündogan has signed a one-year contract at Manchester City until the summer of 2025, with the option of a further 12 months.

The German Midfielder joined Barcelona a season ago having signed a two-year deal with a €400 million Euros relesse clause.

But the Catalan club on Friday announced his departure having mutually terminated his deal to help him leave for free.

“FC Barcelona and Manchester City have reached an agreement for the transfer of first team player Ilkay Gündoğan.

“The club publicly expresses its gratitude to Gündoğan for his commitment and dedication and wishes him every fortune in the future, both personally and professionally.” Barca wrote.
