The Bauchi State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has leveled harsh criticisms against Governor Sen. Bala Mohammed, asserting that his administration, led by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), is the root cause of the ongoing struggles faced by the citizens of Bauchi.

The APC urged the governor to cease his verbal attacks on the APC-led Federal Government regarding the nation’s issues and instead focus on providing effective governance for the people.

Furthermore, the party accused the PDP administration under Governor Mohammed of being the most corrupt in the state’s history.

As an opposition party in the state, the APC expressed strong confidence in their ability to secure a majority in the upcoming local government elections.

These claims were articulated by Senator Shehu Umar Buba, who represents the Bauchi South Senatorial District, during the launch of the APC’s statewide campaign, where candidates for the 20 local government areas were announced.

He declared, “In a fair electoral environment, nothing can prevent the APC from winning the local government elections in Bauchi State.”

Senator Buba attributed the challenges faced by the people to the poor policies implemented by the PDP government, stating, “The citizens are suffering because of the evident corruption rampant in the Bauchi PDP administration, which involves everyone.”

He further lamented, “Under the PDP government, nothing is functioning effectively. This is obvious to all, and the people of Bauchi are well aware and optimistic about our victory in the upcoming elections.”

Addressing criticisms regarding the APC’s policies at the national level, he dismissed them as “misleading and entirely untrue.”

Buba praised President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration for its efforts to improve Nigeria, asserting that the Bauchi State Government fails to recognize the federal interventions provided.

He cited examples like the distribution of 20 trucks of rice to the state and 70 trucks of Guinea corn intended for the populace, questioning the whereabouts of these supplies. He also mentioned the recent provision of 70 trucks of fertilizers, which reportedly ended up being sold at exorbitant prices instead of aiding farmers.

Buba reiterated that the hardship in Bauchi is a direct result of the corrupt practices of the Governor Bala Mohammed-led PDP administration, which he described as a “one-man government” lacking effective management across various ministries.

Additionally, the acting Chairman of the APC in Bauchi, Hon. Mohammed Hassan Tilde, expressed awareness of the PDP’s alleged plans for electoral fraud, reminiscent of tactics used in previous elections since 2019. He assured party members that the APC is prepared to counteract any attempts to undermine their votes.

Tilde also confirmed that the APC has fielded candidates for all 20 chairmanship and 323 councillorship positions in the local government elections, expressing confidence that they will capture all the seats.
