Aliyu Sarki Ahmad Jalam, the Bauchi State Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, has tragically passed away in a car accident. The news was confirmed by Governor Bala Mohammed in a heartfelt condolence message to Jalam’s family and the people of Bauchi State, issued on Sunday, June 2, 2024.

The fatal accident took place on Saturday, June 1, 2024, on the Misau-Darazo highway, a busy road known for its high traffic and challenging driving conditions. Governor Mohammed expressed his deep sorrow over the loss, highlighting the significant impact Jalam had on the local communities through his dedicated public service.

 

Governor Mohammed spoke warmly of Jalam’s unwavering commitment to the development and welfare of the people in Bauchi State. He praised Jalam for his relentless efforts in promoting good governance and strengthening community relations. “During his lifetime, he championed numerous initiatives aimed at improving good governance and community relations,” the governor stated.

Jalam was renowned for his tireless work ethic, integrity, and deep compassion for those he served. His legacy is marked by the many initiatives he led and the countless lives he touched. “Late Ahmed Jalam was known for his tireless work, integrity, and compassion for the people he served. His service will be remembered and cherished by all. His demise is deeply felt by all and the countless individuals whose lives he touched during his lifetime,” Governor Mohammed added.

The late commissioner leaves behind his wives and many children, who, along with the rest of the community, are mourning his sudden and untimely death. Plans have been made for his burial on Sunday in his hometown in Dambam Local Government Area, following Islamic rites. This ceremony will not only mark a final farewell but will also serve as a poignant reminder of the substantial contributions Jalam made to his community.
