The ‘No Loose Guard’ pair, Zinwe, from Big Brother Naija—comprising Zion Ogiefa and Chinwe Elibe—have shared how their time on the reality show positively impacted their relationship.

During a virtual interview on Thursday in Lagos, the duo opened up about their journey both on and off the show.

Despite facing several misunderstandings during their stay in Biggie’s house, which at one point led to a temporary split, the couple expressed how the experience ultimately brought them closer.

Chinwe explained, “Going into the show has impacted positively on our relationship. Now, we know how to handle situations better. If we hadn’t been on the show, we would have handled our real-life issues differently and might have broken up earlier. The show gave us the chance to confront situations as a couple and come out stronger.”

Zion also reflected on the lessons learned, saying, “The Big Brother Naija show was a learning experience for us; we’ve learned patience and resilience. I had good relationships with most of the housemates, so it wasn’t a bad experience. It was fun and educational, and I got to engage with people from different cultures.”

Despite the ups and downs, the Zinwe pair assured their fans that their relationship remains solid. Zion added, “Big Brother Naija has come and gone, but our relationship is still standing strong. We didn’t start our relationship based on BBNaija, so it won’t end with the show. Although we knew it would bring criticism and scrutiny, we were prepared for it. Rocky days in a relationship are normal, and for us, they were part of the learning process.”

The couple, whose relationship was just five months old when they entered the show, emphasized that the challenges they faced only served to strengthen their bond.
