Dutch international Steven Bergwijn has given credit to the Saudi Pro League following comments by his National team coach Ronald Koeman.

Koeman was furious when the winger completed his transfer from Dutch side Ajax Amsterdam to Saudi Pro League side Al-Ittihad.

The Dutch coach said that his international future was over after the move as he found the Saudi League not to be competitive enough for a Dutch international footballer to play.

After their 7-1 victory at the weekend over Al-Wehda which Bergwijn made two assists after playing 63 minutes, the winger responded to those criticisms.

“The world will see how good, and competitive is the Saudi Pro League”. Bergwijn said.

“Koeman comments? They think maybe the league is not good but… they should come here and see first, then speak”. He added.
