Super Eagles forward Victor Boniface has been declared injured which may possibly leave him on the sidelines for the rest of the year.
Boniface was part of the Nigeria national team that lost 2-1 at home to Rwanda.
The Bayer Leverkusen forward replaced Victor Osimhen who secured qualification to the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) after scoring the equalizing goal for the Eagles.
Boniface will be out of action for the rest of the year. The forward sustained a muscle fiber tear in his thigh during international duty.
He was an integral part of Xabi Alonso’s invisible side that won the Bundesliga unbeaten last season.
His season will be disrupted just like his 2023 AFCON was.
