A tragic incident occurred on a public bus traveling from Onitsha, where a young boy lost his life due to severe overcrowding and stifling heat conditions. The unfortunate event took place on Sunday afternoon, leaving passengers and locals in shock.

According to eyewitness reports, the bus was dangerously overloaded, with passengers tightly packed in every available space. The driver, seemingly unbothered by the unsafe conditions, continued to take on more passengers despite the lack of ventilation and the unbearable heat within the vehicle.

As the journey progressed, the boy, whose identity has not yet been confirmed, began to show signs of distress. Other passengers reportedly tried to assist him, but the lack of space and fresh air made it difficult to provide any meaningful help. Despite their efforts, the boy eventually lost consciousness.

The bus was forced to make an emergency stop, and the driver and passengers attempted to revive the boy, but it was too late. He was pronounced dead at the scene, presumably due to suffocation caused by the extreme heat and overcrowded conditions.

Authorities are currently investigating the incident, and the driver of the bus has been taken into custody for questioning. Meanwhile, the boy’s body has been taken to the mortuary, awaiting identification by his family.
