The management of Dangote Refinery has clarified reports regarding a fire incident on Wednesday, stating that a ‘minor fire’ occurred at its Effluent Treatment Plant (ETP) and was quickly brought under control.

Anthony Chiejina, Chief Corporate Communications Officer for Dangote Group, confirmed the incident in a statement.

He assured the public that there is no cause for concern, as the refinery continues to operate normally and no injuries or harm were reported among the staff.

The statement reads, “We swiftly contained a minor fire incident at our effluent treatment plant (ETP) today, Wednesday, June 26th.

There is no cause for alarm as the refinery is operating normally, and no injuries or harm were recorded among our staff on duty.”
